LTTE has no military power in East - Karuna by Anura Maitipe The military wing of the LTTE is under my control and the LTTE has no military power in the East, the breakaway Eastern commander of the LTTE, Karuna Amman told the press in the East. "The LTTE military wing is completely under our control. The LTTE has no military power to wage war and we have fully consolidated our position in the East and 6000 cadres are on alert," he told the reporters. Thousands of cadres born and bred in the Eastern Province have sacrificed their lives in the 20 year battle against the Sri Lankan forces but the LTTE leadership has failed to fulfil justice to the people in the Eastern province. The LTTE leadership has treated them in a different manner, he said.He also said that the Eastern Province was under their control. We will hold discussions with the government that comes to power after April 2, he added. "We are fully committed to peace and willing to discuss with the government on power-sharing in a peaceful manner. The public in the Eastern province have extended their support to the newly formed ruling structure," he added. |
