Polls violence incidents reach 236

Post nomination incidents of polls violence reached 236 yesterday.

According to the Police Election Secretariat they had received up to yesterday 190 complaints of Violation of Election Offences and 46 complaints of Violation of Election Laws.

DIG Jayantha Wickremaratne oversees the Violation of Election Laws unit while DIG Gamini Navaratne is in charge of the Unit on Election Offenses.

The UNF had reported 562 complaints, the PA 20, JVP 31, UPFA 63 and other parties 59 complaints.
