I never speak politics at meetings on development work - Minister Tissa Attanayake

Sigiriya group correspondent

Monies have been allocated for development work. The work will go ahead in spite of the dissolution of Parliament. The Rs. 800 million allocation for Rural Development Works in the Central Regional Development Zone for 40 electorates will be spent as usual with Rs. 2 million for each electorate.

This work is coordinated by the respective Pradeshiya Sabhas. This year 956 km of rural roads have been entrusted to 72 Pradeshiya Sabhas of which Matale and Kandy dominates with 75,000 direct beneficiaries said the Minister of Central Region Development Tissa Attanayake.

Whatever election work I have - I shall carry out my official work in the capacity of the Central Region Development Minister. At these meetings I never speak about politics - but speak about the work we have done, said the Minister.
