Mahen Dayananda, the current Chairman of the Colombo Tea Traders' Association (CTTA) was appointed the new Chairman of the Tea Association of Sri Lanka (TASL), the industry apex body representing all Stakeholders at its Annual General Meeting recently.

Dayananda takes over from the founder Chairman, Rohan Fernando, who will remain on the Board by virtue of being the Chairman of the Planters' Association of Ceylon (PA).

As required by the Articles of Association, the TASL Chairmanship rotates each year among the six stakeholder associations.

Rohan Fernando, the outgoing Chairman said that he was most pleased with the strengthening of unity and cooperation among the industry stakeholders and extended his fullest support to the new Chairman.

Dayananda on taking over fully endorsed the vision of the previous Chairman and stressed the importance of a Quality Assurance Program initiated by the TASL.
