Over 30 reps to participate in Adfest By Sudarshana Perera Around 30 representatives from local advertising agencies will participate in the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (AdFest) to be held in Thailand from Mach 18 to 20 in a move to accept global recognition for Sri Lanka's advertising industry,. The Sri Lankan team could globally interact with advertising giants to share creative know-how and possible ventures. This was made known at a media briefing at Taj Samudra on Friday. The Four A's will coordinate the Sri Lankan participation with Dulux being the local sponsor. Four A's is a member of the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA). The organisers are also eyeing to hold this Adfest exhibition in Sri Lanka next year. The Chairman of the Working Committee of Adfest, Vinit Suraponchai said that Sri Lankan advertising personnel being interactive with global companies will find vast potential to make the country's advertising agencies to be on par with international standards while tapping international market. "Adfest a non profit organisation will extend its fullest cooperation to Sri Lanka's advertising sector which is an emerging market with attractive potential. We have given our top attention to Sri Lanka and will encourage the participation with fair concessions and other inducements", Suraponchai said. "This exhibition is held to recognise creative developments. I am optimistic it will pave the way to penetrate into the global market while imbibing global experiences. This is a forum of exchange and learning", he said. |
