Masses dedicated to save President - Tikiri Kobbekaduwa

by Pradeep Kumara Dharmaratne

The recent public remark attributed to Minister S. B. Dissanayake, that the Sinhala New Year will be celebrated not from the seat of Prime Minister but with Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe on the Chair of the President, was unequivocally denounced by Yatinuwara SLFP Chief Organiser and Freedom Alliance candidate Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, as an aspersion to cause physical harm on President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

Making a special media announcement in Kandy, Kobbekaduwa stated that the President has the people's mandate to occupy the post of Presidency for another more than two years and that statements of this nature on the part of power hungry UNP politicians rouse doubt, alarm and anger among the majority of masses dedicated to save the President at the risk of their own lives.

The recent five star hotel behaviour of Dissanayake's two sons amply demonstrates his tendency as a conspirator to cause harm even on the President.

"The majority of the masses who form the United People's Freedom Alliance will come forward to protect the President and sweep the conspiratory politicians clean out of the political arena," Kobbekaduwa said.
