Standard Chartered Bank opens branch at Lipton Circus Standard Chartered Bank, opened its ninth Branch in Sri Lanka at Liptons Circus last week. The branch was opened by Subroto Som, Regional Head of Consumer Banking for Standard Chartered and the Deputy Mayor of Colombo Azath Salley. The Regional Head for Consumer Banking said that the Standard Chartered Group had been investing significantly in Sri Lanka clearly reflecting its commitment and confidence in the country. Ghouse said, "We are pleased to introduce Sunday Banking at the branch. This would mean that one Branch of Standard Chartered would be open seven days of the week. He said that the "Investment plan for the next few months include the refurbishment of the Bank's Bambalapitiya branch and the installation of two new ATMs. Speaking on future plans for the Bank in Sri Lanka CEO and Country Head Vishnu Mohan said "We are committed to growing our business in Sri Lanka and in addition to our focus on the consumer segment, our Corporate Banking has also grown significantly in the recent past, having structured some significant transactions including the single largest debt raised by a Sri Lankan Corporate." |
