Chief Justice calls for original video of SB's speech

Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva has called for the original video tape containing the speech made by Samurdhi and Livestock Development Minister S. B. Dissanayake at a Wap Magul ceremony in Habaraduwa which according to a petition filed before the Supreme Court amounted to contempt of court.

In his speech made at the ceremony on the 3rd November last year the Minister is alleged to have stated that he was not bound to regard any orders issued by Court.

The Chief Justice has referred this matter to be inquired by a full Bench of the Supreme Court.
