Mangala accuses UNP of using black money

SLFP media spokesman and former MP Mangala Samaraweera in a communique yesterday accused the UNP of using the money given by the business mafia to topple the previous PA Government which won the people's mandate to rule the country for six years from the year 2000.

"The same business mafia money is at work once again to buy over to the UNP fold, National list MPs rejected by the masses. We are not surprised, but only feel sorry about individuals like S. B. Dissanayake who kicked the people's mandate in the most uncivilised manner to join the bankrupt UNP currently undergoing its own self dissolution," Samaraweera stated.

Mr. Samaraweera has alleged that the UNP led by Ranil Wickremesinghe, infuriated by certain defeat, once again is using funds supplied by the business mafia to get into its fold individuals rejected by the people.
