Police constables, sergeants' salary anomalies rectified

Finance Minister K. N. Choksy yesterday decided that all police constables and sergeants should be granted two salary increments from January 1.

The office of the Government spokesman said the decision has been conveyed to the Secretary, Ministry of Interior and the Inspector-General of Police.

These increments have been granted on representations made to the Minister by members of the police force.

Constables and sergeants will in addition receive the Rs. 1,250 salary increase granted to all public officers by the budget.
