The President who responded to this request, has said that at every time when progressive forces formed alliances, they have successfully ended their task by victories. During the nearly six hour meeting, SLFP Parliamentarians and organisers pointed out various malpractices committed by several Government Ministers. They told the President, if Parliament was not dissolved immediately, there was a possibility of covering up all these malpractices. The President who approved these suggestions had emphasised that the newly formed Alliance can win an election. She stressed that in a future election, nominations will be given to those who have served the public honestly. The President has told SLFP MPs and organisers: "In a situation where people both in the urban and rural areas are expressing their displeasure to the Government, all should get ready to achieve a people's victory by giving a honest leadership." |
