Indian with heroin held at BIA by Sarath Malalasekara An Indian national who attempted to smuggle into the country half a kilogram of brown sugar (heroin) valued over Rs. 1.3 million concealed in his clothes was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday. Investigations directed by Director Narcotic and Baggage S. Ramachandra revealed that the man now in custody was from Madras and had come to Sri Lanka on three previous occasions. The detection was made by a team of officers led by Deputy Director N. K. Shivakumar. Help save Kasun's life Kasun Chamikara Dilshan, a student of Dammissara College, Nattandiya is suffering from Liver Cirrhosis. Doctors have decided that he needs an urgent liver transplantion which is not possible in Sri Lanka at present. The estimated expenditure for completion of surgery, to be done at Apollo, India is four (4) million rupees. The patient's parents have already applied for donations from President's Fund to cover a part of expenditure. They appeal philanthropists and general public to help save Kasun's life by sending whatever financial contributions possible.
