by Florence Wickramage The first phase of the second stage of the National Jak Development Project (NJDP) of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd (ANCL) will be launched at the Horticultural Crop Research and Development Institute at historic Gannoruwa today, the 56th Independence Day. One hundred thousand jak saplings will be planted at the special function at 10 a.m. coordinated by the Agriculture Department. The NJDP is a Janasetha program of the Silumina and is sponsored by the Sevana Lottery. Sarath Weerasena Director General of the Agriculture Department will be the chief guest. Institute Director Dr. C.Kudagamage along with officials of the Department will also attend the ceremony. ANCL Chief Executive Director Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, top ranking officials of ANCL and the NJDP will be present. |
