ETF online facility for Shell Gas Shell Gas Lanka Limited has been selected by the Employees' Trust Fund Board for a pilot project of the board that will give employee ETF balances online. Shell Gas was selected for the pilot on the basis that it is one of the companies who ensure that ETF remittances are made on time and are up to date. The new online system will allow Shell Gas Lanka access to the ETF website developed by Lanka Internet, where with the help of an unique pin-number the company will be able to see the balance of any active employee. This in turn will give the employee the ability to find out what their total ETF balance is. Chairman ETF Board, Dinesh Weerakkody said the whole project is part of a much larger plan to have most of the ETF facilities available on-line, much like what is already in existence in countries such as Singapore. This will be beneficial to all concerned: the ETF, the employer and the employee, in the long-term. He said that future developments planned including, the ability for employers to remit ETF payments on-line, employee access to their ETF balance and the introduction of a number for all employees, which will be the same number they will use wherever they work. Country Chairman and Managing Director of Shell Gas Lanka Roberto Moran, said future developments that are planned will impact in helping the company streamline employee related activities. The "On-line Member Balance Inquiry System" has been developed for the ETF Board by Lanka Internet. |
