Let us foster unity and peace - JVP leader

People's Liberation Front (JVP) Leader Somawansa Amarasinghe in a message commemorating the Muslim Haj Festival today wished the Islamic devotees a year of fulfilment of religious aspirations by fostering unity in place of division and peace and religious co-existence in place of intolerance in accord with the principles of Islam.

Haj is a festival Muslims resolve to live a religious life after praying at the supreme place of religious worship at Mecca. Islam means peace and tranquillity.

But today the Muslims have lost the opportunity of living in peace and harmony specially in the North and the East.

They have lost their native land and security of life owing to the travails of terrorist separatism. May the Muslims resolve to defeat this condition on this sublime day of Haj Festival, today, stated Somawansa Amarasinghe's Haj Message.
