W. W. Asanka winner

W. W. Asanka clinched the Open Mountain Bike event organised by Development Lotteries Board and conducted by the Interim Committee for Cycling.

The event known as Jayodha Cycle Rally is sponsored by Rupavahini Corporation and ANCL Lake House as media sponsors.

The first stage of this Cycle Rally staged in Anuradhapura attracted competitors from the North.

It being the first event for the year also saw large crowds as well as competitors vying for honours in four Mountain Biking events under 16 Boys and Girls u-19 boys and the open event.

Nishan Tharanga won the u-16 Boys event comfortably while the u-19 Girls event was won Madushanee Shashikala. The Boys event in the u-19 age group R. G. Nalinda Amila Kumara was a clear winner with a lead of nearly 25 meters.
