Trans Asia's Wellness Spa : Rejuvenation for City souls by Tharika Goonathilake Getting away from it all, to soothe your frazzled and careworn city slicker nerves is easier said than done, given the hectic lifestyles that most city souls lead. But there's a special zone of tranquillity, amidst the hustle and bustle of the City that is sure worth a visit, even for the self-confessed workaholics yearning for a `quick fix'. The tranquil haven, is the `Wellness Spa' at the Trans Asia Hotel that promises a dose of healing therapy for those in hurry, but are seeking relief to rejuvenate the mind and body or just simply to bust the stress!. The Spa, on the first floor of the hotel, offers a range of therapeutic massages ideal for fatigue, headaches, muscle tension, jet lag and even the many body aches and pains that are normally associated with the grind of every day work and living. Operated by the Siddha (Pvt) Ltd, an experienced spa management company the Spa's success can be attributed to the novel blend of techniques from the East and West. This is mainly the use of new age knowledge, with the ancient wisdom of the region. Hence, the packages at the hotel offer Ayurvedic treatment from Sri Lanka, traditional massage techniques from Thailand not to mention Japanese Shiatsu technique to Swedish therapy methods "to combat the conditions." The synchronised massages carried out by a well trained staff last anything between 30 minutes to 90 minutes depending on the package selected. They also offer the best of reflexology and aromatherapy. Reflexology treatment involves the applying of pressure to the precise areas of feet and hands related to particular parts of the body, whilst aromatherapy involves treatment using scents. All products used by the therapists and masseurs contain natural essential oils derived from lavender, peppermint, lemon grass, sandalwood, eucalypts and cinnamon, carefully prepared in line with client requirements and the Spa's concept of setting the mind, body and spirit free. According to the company's Managing Director Mohan Asirvatham, the packages offered at the Wellness Spa are unique given this successful blend of techniques and the use of natural ingredients. "Most people live under such stress and strain be it work or other involvements. Our aim is to offer a therapeutic means to overcome the many ills that are a result of this stressful way of life," he says. Hence it is not surprising that the anti-stress therapy package offered by the Wellness Spa is in such high demand as well as the foot reflexology and anti-wrinkle herbal face therapy. Asirvatham says that in addition to general wellness therapies, the Spa also offers more muscular aggressive treatments for athletes and sports related ailments. He also says that although in the past, the Spa catered mostly to women, of late the clientele is split between the sexes, both local and foreign. ######### Acquarius offers ayurvedic package Acquarius Sports Resort, Marawila has launched a special package to offer ayurverdic treatment to European tourists.
The package includes Ayurvedic body massage with Ayurvedic oil made from herbs and energy derived from natural light which helped gaining popularity amongst elderly tourists from Europe.
