Dramatic win for Uva

Uva Province defeated North Central Province by four wickets in a dramatic fourth and final day of their inter provincial cricket tournament match concluded at the Dambulla International Stadium yesterday.

North Central Province were shot out for 135 runs in their second innings with pacemen Chaminda Vaas and Chamila Gamage causing most of the damage. Uva Province went through some anxious moments during their run chase but made it comfortably at the end with opener Avishka Gunawardena stroking a fluent 46.

North Central Province: 405 and 135 (Tillekeratne Dilshan 44, Lanka de Silva 31, Chaminda Vaas 3 for 40, Chamila Gamage 3 for 37, Upul Chandana 2 for 10)

Uva Province: 442 and 99 for 6 (Avishka Gunawardena 46, Jeevantha Kulatunge 22, Gayan Wijekoon 4 for 54)
