Bourse records Rs 98.9 m turnover

The market edged up at the end of trading yesterday where the All Share Price Index(ASPI) moved up 11.02 points to 1,094.7 points and the Milanka Price Index (MPI) closed at 1,967.8 up by 16.71 points.

Total Return Indices on the All Share Price Index was 1,095.7 points and TRI on Milanka Price Index was 1,967.8 points.

Turnover for the day was Rs 98.9 million. Yesterday's trading recorded domestic purchases worth Rs 85.4 million and foreign purchases Rs 13.4 million.

Large volumes of SLT, JKH and Asian Hotels were traded yesterday.

Capital Development and Investment Company announced a rights issue - proportion of 79 for 100. Issue Price Rs 56.

Top five gainers were Nuwera Eliya, John Keels, Vanik Incorporation Limited, Galadari and Marawila Resorts.
