Bourse records gains

The Colombo Bourse yesterday recorded gains as the All Share Price Index increased to 1,173.2 points from 1,161.4 points on Monday. The Milanka Index also increased to 2,142.9 points from 2,111.0 points.

Turnover too increased to Rs. 281,611,835 million compared to Rs 112,697,309 million the previous day.

SLT , Seylan Bank(non voting), Asian Hotels, Blue Diamonds, Connaissance, Seylan Bank, Nations Trust and Distilleries contributed much for heavy trading. Domestic purchases were Rs.1,676 million while foreign purchases were Rs. 137 million. The day's top five gainers were Bogawantalawa, CFI, Commercial Dev, Lighthouse Hotel and Lanka Tiles.
