Embroidery machine exhibition State-of-the-art embroidery machines and the latest high tech laser cutters will be on display at an embroidery machine exhibition on January 24 and 25 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre in Colombo. It is organised by Tajima Colombo (Pte) Ltd., a total machinery solutions provider to the Sri Lankan apparel industry. Themed 'Embroidery technology today' the exhibition will be one of the biggest events on the local apparel industry calendar. The new Tajima TMCE series, has the flexibility to switch from lock stitch, chain stitch and moss stitch to chenille embroidery. Also on display will be the TFGN series machines which are embroidery machines with high-speed sequin sewing devices and the TMLH series machines for taping, coiling and cording combined with basic embroidery. The exhibition will also feature a high-tech laser cutter, which enables delicate design processing such as marking and delicate appliqu, cut work. "The local apparel industry provides direct and indirect employment to more than one million people in Sri Lanka and there is a clear need to become more technologically savvy to become more productive once the quota free regulations are implemented," Tajima Colombo Managing Director and Chairman M. M. Hassan said. The company has received ISO certification for the sale, installation, servicing and maintenance of Tajima Multi Headed Computerised Embroidery Machines and provide embroidery design development services for the garment industry in Sri Lanka, an area which it has a dominant 80 per cent market share. |
