CAA action to protect consumers The Consumer Affairs Authority will ask manufacturers and traders to exhibit the maximum retail price, batch number and the expiry date on the pack or on the container or on the wrapper of the following products since it is an important step towards protecting the consumer's rights. Among the products items such as: Flour (powder made from any grain or pulses) sold in packs or containers; Soap (toilet, Medical toilet, carbolic, shaving, soft liquid, baby, laundry); Laundry powder (Flakes and chips); Baby Products (Shampoo, oil, talcum powder, lotions); Confectionaries such as cakes and sweets sold in packs or containers; Tooth paste; Batteries (Torch and Transistor); Sugar sold in packs or containers; Grains and pulses sold in packs or containers; Bread sold in packs; Dry fish and Maldive fish sold in packs or containers; Cheese sold in packs or containers; Eggs sold in packs or containers; Curd sold in packs or containers; Liquid milk (plain, flavoured or sweetened) sold in packs or containers; Powdered Beverages sold in packs or containers; Bottled water; Noodles sold in packs or containers; Soya products sold in packs or containers and raw, roasted, salted or spiced tubers, nuts, legumes and similar ready to eat food preparations sold in packs or containers. |
