Junior boxing championships from January 20 to 22

The delayed junior boxing championships for the year 2003, organised by the Amateur Boxing Association of Sri Lanka, will now be held on 20th, 21st and 22nd of January 2004, at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Kotahena, commencing at 5.30 p.m. on each day.

This meet is open to all boxers who are over 17 and below 19 years of age on 31st October 2003, the date on which the meet was earlier scheduled to be held. The 11 weight categories range from the lowest Light Fly Weight - under 48 kgs ascending up to the highest Super Heavy Weight over 91 kgs. Each bout will consists of 4 rounds of 2 minutes each with one minute interval in between the rounds.

The preliminary weigh-in preceded by the Medical Examination and followed by the draw of bouts will be held between 8 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday 20th of January, at the same venue. On subsequent dates medical examination and weigh-in will be held between 8 to 9 a.m.

Entries close on Monday 19th January with the Hony. Secretary ABA-SL Brigadier Jagath Jayasuriya at No. 53/2, Temple Road, Kalubowila, Dehiwala.
