Dinuka (5-86) bowls WP to victory Dinuka Hettiarachchi took five wickets in the second innings as Western Province defeated Uva Province by seven wickets on the fourth and final day of their inter provincial cricket tournament match concluded at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday. Uva Province did well to avoid an innings defeat scoring 363 in their second innings with opener Ian Daniel stroking a superb 125 with fourteen fours and one six. But the rest of the batting collapsed against the spin of Dinuka Hettiarachchi with pacemen Dilhara Fernando and Thilina Thushara capturing two wickets each. Uva Province: 235 and 363 (Ian Daniel 125, Anushka Polonowita 37, Dilhara Fernando 2 for 78, Thilina Thushara 2 for 27, Dinuka Hettiarachchi 5 for 86). Jayasuriya struck 25 fours and hoisted three sixes as Southern Province scored 471 in their second innings after having set a victory target of 491 runs. Rangana Herath took the bowling honours with the best figures of five wickets for 120. North Central Province: 365 and 309.
