Former Parliamentarians, a lot to reckon with - Karu Jayasuriya

The Minister of Power and Energy, Karu Jayasuriya said he was happy and honoured to meet those former parliamentarians who had served the country with dedication in good times as well as in bad times. They paved the way for good governance to help form the Government of the day. He was addressing the former UNP Parliamentarians at their General Body meeting at the Auditorium of the Institute of Hotel Management.

'You have served socially, economically and politically in a manner befitting the nation and as we are at cross roads for peace, I hope you will make your contributions to make this a reality in your own experienced way.

There are many here who still can play a vital role in a future government as well and whose experience and knowledge are invaluable.' Minister Jayasuriya thanked Harold Herat President and Chandra Gankanda, Secretary of the former UNP Parliamentary Association for bringing together everyone and pledging their support for the party as well as the Government.
