The inauguration will take place on January 16 at 9.30 am at the Kolonnawa Divisional Secretariat in the presence of Minister Ms. Ratnayake. Community leaders, village heads, youth leaders and persons who take leadership at village level will be educated during the first phase. The program will consist of counselling, lectures delivered by prominent lecturers and discussions. Arrangements have been made to educate women and children on their rights under the same program. According to the organisers of this program, wherever there is no upstanding thoughts and practice of traditional rituals in society it is prone to crimes. The crime rate is rising at an alarming rate. Especially violence against women and children is on the increase. The program will help people to recognise the acute problems and ways of seeking solutions for such problems. |
