These details were disposed at a press briefing held at this Sports Ministry Auditorium last Monday.

The winner will be awarded trophy and Rs. 100,000 while the first and second runner-up will take away Rs. 50,000, and 25,000 respectively, other competitors too will receive cash awards ranging from 10,000/ 5,000 and 2,500 - the total amount expected to be distributed is Rs. 300,000 said the president of the Sri lanka Body Building Federation, Kapila Kumara Aluthge.

Dhanasiri Amaratunga Foundation chairman Dhanasiri Amaratunge said: "it is our duty to help sports bodies when they need assistance. Without financial assistance it is impossible to conduct events in a grand scale. This is a Federation that really needs assistance as it does not receive any sort of aid from any source.

As this is the situation when the president of SLBBF approached me I whole heartedly agreed to join hands to promote the game islandwide and also in the Dehiwala Mt. Lavinia area".

He said this is a fine opportunity for everyone to witness our Local Musclemen show their muscles on an open air stage.

Adding further Amaratunge said that his foundation will take steps to increase the prize money next year and thanked the federation officials for giving an opportunity to his foundation to be involved this grand show.

The organisers have made arrangements to hold a grand musical evening for spectators who throng in large number to witness the competition.
