'Passing Away of Ven. Soma Thera an irreparable loss'

The National Council of the Young Men's Muslim Association of Sri Lanka Maligawatte Y.M.M.A. (Inc) is shocked and grieved at the news of the untimely Passing Away of the Venerable Gangodawila Soma Thera in St. Petersberg, Russia.

In a message of condolence Al Haj Jainudeen Ahamath, National President of the National Council of the YMMAs' of Sri Lanka said that the Venerable Gangodawila Soma Thera of Maharagama Dhammayathana Vihara and the Viharadhipathi of the Shakyamuni Sambuddha Vihara in Victoria, Australia was a unique and exemplary Bhikku who did a humble and honest service in propagating the Buddha Dhamma in Sri Lanka and the World over with his gifted sermons and was also responsible for the renaissance of the Buddha Sasana.

This erudite scholar possessed a wide knowledge and talent to solve any puzzling questions relating to Buddhism the demise of this humble servant of the Buddha Sasana is an irreparable loss not only to the Nation but to the Buddhists the world over.

We, the National Council of the YMMAs' of Sri Lanka Maligawatte (Inc) join the Nation in this hour of grief.
