It is definite that Police and Ratnam SC are in a battle for supremacy in this tournament specially the clash of these two teams on Friday could provide the roadway to the champions. As such the game on this day will be of vital importance for both teams. The winners of this game will get a step closer to the top slot. Meanwhile the defending champs Negombo Youth SC who were among the top four placings a few weeks ago has dropped drastically and are occupying the eighth slot at present. With seven games in hand and with 37 points under their belt still have a chance of coming on top.

They should repeat last year's performance if they are to do this act, and be on top for a another year. Java Lane SC is a another team that held a top slot in the early part of the championship. They failed to maintain tempo losing ten games while drawing six and registering only eight victories.

The FA Cup Champions Renown SC are berthed at No. 11, while the one time masters of the game Saunders SC after making ten wins out of 26 games played so far takes the ninth position.

Matara SC the debutants in the Dialog Premier League Championship has done well and are sure to stay in the league for another year with the performances.

An old club from Slave Island Victory SC has not produced anything worthwhile during this tourney. They are on the verge of being eliminated from the next year's championship along with Hyline SC from Kandy.

Army SC, Jupiters SC from Negombo and Air Force occupying positions above ten with few matches left for them. This weekend.
