According to the Upcountry Motor Sports Club there will be no official practices for the meet. The circuit has been laid out on a large, flat and virtually abandoned playground in Moderawila, within the urban limits of Panadura. A public tarred road bordering the grounds (mainly gravel with spots of grass) and a large sand pit (which may be well watered or even submerged for the meet) will form the part of the circuit. Hence the track surface will be a mixture of unsealed surfaces. The length of the track is expected to be in the region of 2.0 kilometre permitted by international regulations for such an event. Thus this track will be unique and the competitors have to come to grips with the different terrains available on this circuit. Entries will close with Rohan Peiris, 11 Park Circus, off Park Road, Colombo 5. |
