News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | Lankan, South African FMs meet Minister of Foreign Affairs, of South Africa Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma hosted Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando for bilateral political discussions yesterday in Pretoria. During the visit both Minister Dlamini Zuma and Fernando are expected to sign a Bilateral Partnership Forum Agreement to further enhance trade and provide new opportunities for business in both countries. Discussions between the two Foreign Ministers are expected to focus among others on the operationalisation of the African Union, the implementation of NEPAD, peacekeeping and conflict resolution efforts, the after-maths of the war against Iraq, the fight against international terrorism and the Middle East peace process. It is expected that Minister Tyronne Fernando will also brief Minister Dlamini Zuma on developments regarding conflict resolution and peacekeeping within Sri Lanka with a specific reference to the peace talks between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). |
