Ceylon Biscuits wins Brand of the Year 2003 trophy by Lionel Yodhasinghe Ceylon Biscuits Limited won the prestigious, Brand of the Year 2003 trophy for its Munchee (biscuits) at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards 2003, organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing at the Trans Asia Hotel on Sunday. Manufacturers and marketers of Munchee biscuits, Ritzbury chocolates and Soya products won seven awards sweeping almost all awards competing with local and multinational brands. Among the trophies are: Product Brand of the year Gold for Munchee, Silver for Super Cream Cracker, Bronze for Lanka Soy and Local Brand of the year for Munchee Innovative brand of the year for Munchee Super Cream Cracker and Turnaround brand of the year for Lanka Soy. Commenting on the achievement Director Marketing and Sales N.A.Wickramage thanked his consumers and traders." Without their patronage, we would not have been able to achieve this victory", he said. He said that all aspects with regard to the performance of a brand such as overall marketing activities, financial results, market share growth and contribution to the overall company growth have been critically assessed by a panel of judges. Therefore, the total performance of brand has been considered in awarding these awards, This is yet another endorsement for the success of marketing and business activities carried out by CBL for all its brands. CBL is a local company which is continuously growing at a pace keeping with their corporate pay off line growing Success. The other winners of SLIM Brand Excellence are: Best New Entrant of the year Merit award for Seylan Bank, International Brand of the year - Alghazaleen tea for Akbar Brothers, Service Brand of the year Gold - Tikiri for Seylan Bank, Silver - Singithi for Hatton National Bank and Bronze - Ran Kekulu for Bank of Ceylon. Awards were given by SLIM President Prof.K.U.Kamalagoda, Secretary Nishan Navaratne and Organising Committee President Wasantha Mallikarachchi. |
