UK working visas - no closing date The British High Commission in Colombo announced yesterday that there is no closing date involved in applying for a working holidaymaker visa to enter UK. They have also not imposed any quota for Sri Lankans wishing to enter UK on such visas. Application forms and information about the scheme can be collected free of charge from the British High Commission or downloaded from the website www.ukvisas.gov.uk. However applicants should make sure that they have original bank statements and/or savings books with them. Bank letters of balance alone will not suffice. Meanwhile the High Commission said the United Kingdom Working Holidaymaker visa applications will be dealt with on a telephone appointment system with immediate effect. Appointments can be made by telephoning 011 233 5805. The line will be open from 8.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and from 8.00 a.m.-1.00 p.m. on Fridays. Applicants who arrive at the British High Commission without a prior appointment will not be entertained. |
