News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | President meets LSSP, CP and MEP representatives President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga held talks with representatives of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party, the Communist Party of Sri Lanka and the MEP, at President's House, Colombo last night to brief them on her discussion with Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe to form a National Reconstruction Alliance. Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakse, People's Alliance Secretary D.M. Jayaratne, MEP leader Dinesh Gunawardena, Dew Gunasekera of the Communist Party, Professor Tissa Vitharana of the LSSP and Central Provincial Council Member Lal Wijenayake attended the meeting. After her discussion with the Norwegian delegates last night, President Kumaratunga was due to meet representatives of the JVP. |
