Lanka thrash Bangladesh by eight wickets KARACHI, Sunday Sri Lanka gave another inspired all-round performance to beat Bangladesh by eight wickets in their second match of the Asian under 19 cricket tournament match played here today. Winning the toss they dismissed Bangladesh for 166 through their pace cum spin combination and then knocked off the required runs using up 44 overs. Openers Damindu Kularatne and Harsha Vithana gave Sri Lanka a good start putting together 105 for the first wicket in 30 overs. Kularatne playing the sheet anchor role went onto score an unbeaten 75 off 143 balls with nine fours. Vithana who made 72 not out against India in the opening match on Friday, made 50 off 85 balls with eight fours. Sri Lanka play Pakistan in the third qualifying round match on Tuesday.
