News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | Jeyaraj resigns as SLFP Katana organiser by Chatura Vidyaratne PA Gampaha District MP Jeyaraj Fernandopulle has tendered his resignation from the post of Sri Lanka Freedom Party organiser for the Katana electorate. He has informed of his resignation in writing to the SLFP General Secretary Maithripala Sirisena. The resignation was tendered on Saturday. Fernandopulle entered Parliament in 1989 for the first time on the SLFP ticket. In 1996 under the PA Government, he functioned as the Deputy Minister of Planning, Ethnic Affairs and National Integration, in addition to being the Party's Assistant Secretary and a member of the Central Executive Committee of the SLFP. Later he was given the portfolio of Plan Implementation and Parliamentary Affairs under the PA Government. |
