Maharoof, Vithana steer Lanka to 4-wicket win

LAHORE, Friday, Sri Lanka under 19 captain Farveez Maharoof took four wickets for 21 runs and H. Vithana scored an unbeaten half century to steer Sri Lanka to a four- wicket win over India in the opening match of the Asian under 19 cricket tournament played here today.

India (under-19) 194-9 in 50 overs (A.T. Rayudu 38, K.K.D. Kathik 35, I.K. Pathan 32, M.F. Maharoof 4 for 21, A.D. Mathews 3 for 23)

Sri Lanka (under-19) 195-6 in 41.5 overs ( A. Kularatne 21, H, Vithana 72 n.o., G. de Silva 21, R. Ratnayake 41, I.K. Pathan 3 for 61).
