Rukmal Cooray of Asian Int'l School leaves for Hong Kong tennis

Rukmal Cooray of Asian International School left for Hong Kong to participate in Junior International Tennis Tournament which is now in progress there.

Rukmal is an advanced junior national tennis player. He was the winner of under-14 boys Colombo Championship 2003, winner of under-14 and 16 junior Masters Tennis Championship 2003 winner of Open Junior Singles Tennis Championship 2003 conducted by Moors Sport Club, winner of the Boys under-14 YMCA Junior Ranking Tournament 2003, winner of the Boys Doubles under-16 Panadura Open Ranking Tennis Tournament, winner Junior Nationals 2003 under-14 Doubles and winner of the boys under-14 S.S.C. City Bank Open Tennis Ranking Tournament 2003.

Rukmal was selected in the year 2002 to follow a training course at Nick Bolleteri Tennis Academy in Florida, USA and is the only Sri Lankan Junior Tennis player to receive a fully pledged scholarship to undergo training in Woodlands Tennis International Academy in Bedford, London and also selected by S.L.T.A to participate in T.T.C 15th Annual State Ranking Open Tournament conducted by Tennis Training Centre in Chennai, India.

Rukmal represented Sri Lanka in the World Junior Tennis Championship held in Melbourne, Australia in May 2003.
