Fabrex to provide high frequency welding services to local garment industries Fabrex International Ltd, the world's leading provider of high frequency motif welding (3D heat transfer) services for some of the world's largest garment and footwear products, recently signed an agreement with the Board of Investment (BOI) valued at 600,000 Pounds Sterling (approx. Rs. 90 million), making Sri Lanka the seventh hub in their worldwide network of strategic partnerships. Suppliers of the patented Fabrex Three Dimensional motifs to some of the biggest brand names in the world including Adidas, Nike, Reebok and Puma, Fabrex International local representative, Fabrex Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, will provide high frequency welding facilities for the embellishment of garments to local textile and sports wear manufacturers in the island and overseas, as well as sell direct from Sri Lanka to Fabrex overseas customer base which includes some of the major department stores such as Marks and Spencer and Tesco. In addition, Fabrex International are suppliers of the Vodafone label for the replica soccer shirts for the Manchester United soccer team, which at present has the largest fan base in the world and are also suppliers of 3D motifs to Mercedes Benz. Chief Executive, Fabrex International Ltd., Roy England said. Fabrex International has set up various hubs to service the world in key locations such as Europe, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, USA, China, and now Sri Lanka. Operating as our seventh hub, Sri Lanka will service the Middle East, India, Maldives, Bhutan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, he said. England said that the Fabrex specialist heat transfer method which was patented in the UK, Europe and worldwide, is unique to the sports and garment industries here, and that this joint venture enabled Sri Lanka to benefit from this new transfer of technology. Sri Lanka will also have the services of a representative from our international design team based in Europe, to design products here in the country, he said. The factory, which is in Wattala, will initially create over 50 jobs for skilled labour including graphic designers.
