Canadian FM to visit Lanka

OTTAWA, (AFP) - Canadian Foreign Minister Bill Graham announced yesterday he would visit India and Sri Lanka for the next seven days.

His trip started Yesterday, when he met with India's External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha and other senior government officials in Delhi.

He will travel on to Colombo and Jaffna for discussions with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, among other things, the peace process, before returning to Canada on October 16.

She needs help

Miss W. D. Padmalatha Perera (55) of 81/D, Ranmuthugala, Kadawatha is suffering from chronic renal failure and presently undergoing maintenance dialysis as a life saving procedure. Consultant Nephrologist Dr. Surjit Somiah has recommended haemodialysis treatment thrice a week. She says she needs Rs. 60,000 per month to obtain this treatment but due to financial constraint she is on dialysis only twice a week.

She requests philanthropists and the general public to help her financially to enable her to obtain full treatment recommended by her doctor. All contributions should be remitted to account number 1-045888-1 at the Bank of Ceylon, Kiribathgoda branch.
