Ethulkotte crash :

Warrants on Susanthika, husband

by Sandasen Marasinghe

Maligakanda Additional Magistrate Ayesha Jayasena issued warrants yesterday on Susanthika Jayasinghe and her husband Kumbukage Dammika Nanda Kumara, in connection with a road accident at Ethulkotte junction on October 2.

Nanda Kumara and Susanthika who were to appear before Court yesterday, failed to turn up. The case will be called again on November 7.

Police said that a vehicle belonging to Susanthika collided with a car belonging to a Brigadier which was driven by an Army Corporal at the Ethulkotte junction popularly known as "Kuluna Junction".

Susanthika and her husband had left without giving a statement to the Police while the Police had recorded the Brigadier's driver's statement. It was reported that the Brigadier's driver Rajapakse allegedly assaulted by Susanthika's husband after a heated argument was later admitted to the Colombo National Hospital. Nanda Kumara does not have a driving licence.
