Susantha 'Y' snooker champ by Bernard Perera Sri Lanka's number one snooker player Susantha Boteju won the YMCA Open Snooker Championship yesterday beating Naresh Samarawickrama five frames to one. Susantha got off to a flying start winning first four frames in the first session of play. Naresh who never beat susantha in this session. The second session saw Naresh make a strong come back winning the fifth frame 61-49. Young Susantha who never in trouble and took the sixth frame convincingly 68-9, with break of 52 points. Earlier in the fourth frame too he had the best break 61 points. Yesterday's win is a morale booster for Susantha who is scheduled to leave for China tomorrow to compete in the World Snooker Championships. |
