SLC initiates investigation into alleged misuse of funds The President, Sri Lanka Cricket, Thilanga Sumathipala called an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee at the SLC Headquarters on Monday. It was unanimously resolved that the auditors of SLC would conduct an investigation into the allegations pertaining to the alleged use of funds in 1999 by an individual who was not a member of the then Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka to travel to the ICC Cricket World Cup '99. The Executive Committee has taken this action to clear the name of the 'then' Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka and have asked for a full report from the auditors within 14 days.
