Amana Takaful to enhance national savings Amana Takaful, a leading insurance company is to step up business in Sri Lanka while enhancing national savings and offering higher returns on investments. "Our key business goals are to promote national savings and to invest on higher returns. "Our company is centred around not only Muslims but also other communities. Around 15% non-Muslims have invested in Amana Takaful," said Dato Mohd Fadzli, Director/Chief Executive Officer, Takaful Malaysia at a media briefing on Monday. Fadzli said that his company was engaged in ethical forms of insurance with assured commitment to its clients and the investments were on joint ventures and public companies. Outlining the company's performance in Sri Lanka Osman Kassim, Chairman, Amana Investments Limited said that amidst all challenges and competition, it performed remarkably well last year and the company was targeting more investments. Amana Takaful covers the life policies and general insurance business in the country. Meanwhile, Asean Takaful Group held its ninth Annual Conference on the theme "Takaful-paving the way for sustainable economic growth through ATG" at the Hotel Galadari on Monday. The conference was also held to promote co-operation and exchange information among Takaful operators in the Asean region while developing Takaful business adopted in the Asian region as a role model.
