Ceylinco Life goes for SLT's latest IP/VPN technology Ceylinco Life and Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) signed a milestone agreement this week, under which SLT will link Ceylinco Life's island-wide network of 84 branches using the latest IP/VPN (Internet Protocol/Virtual Private Network) technology. With this agreement, signed on behalf of the two entities by Ceylinco Consolidated Chairman Dr. Lalith Kotelawala and SLT CEO Shuhei Anan, Ceylinco Life becomes the first insurance company in this country to use thes technology, and SLT's single biggest customer for IP-VPN. The project to establish a seamless, real-time secure voice and data transmission facility for Ceylinco Life will result in all branches and the company's head office in Colombo being fully meshed into a managed communications network that will generate greater efficiency, enhanced customer convenience, even speedier service and cost savings, the company said. |
