Jak planting project 25th phase on Oct 6

The 25th phase of the National Jak Planting Project (NJDP) of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd will take place at the Badowita Sri Jananadarama Temple on October 06 at 8.00 a.m.

The Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation (SLLRDC) is organising the ceremony to commemorate World Habitat Day.

The NJDP is a Silumina Janasetha Programme sponsored by Sevana Lottery. The programme will include the granting of plastic garbage bins to 900 houses in the area. Prizes to winners of speech, art and essay contests held in connection with World Habitat Day will also be awarded at the ceremony.

Another highlight the opening of the Ratmalana Engineering Office constructed by the Dehiwela-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council in association with the Badowita Project Fund.

Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipality Chairman Dhanasiri Amaratunga SLLRDC Chairman M. Manimuttu and NJDP officials will participate.
