Campus clash: 

Bail for 13 undergrads

Thirteen Colombo University undergraduates remanded in connection with a clash between two rival groups at the university premises were yesterday granted bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge A.A.R. Heiyanthuduwa.

The Judge directed the suspects to furnish surety bail in Rs. 5,000 each and ordered them to appear before the OIC Cinnamon Garden Police on every Sunday between 9 a.m. and 12 noon.

The undergraduates granted bail are D.M.P.M. Abeykoongoda, Sisira Vijayakumara Basnayake, L.G.S. Anura Gunaratne, R.M.D. Gayan Ratnayake, E.M.P. Ravijaya, P.A.S. Indika, H. Ranjith Senadeera, D.A.K. Kumarasiri, W.A.M. Priyantha Atapattu, S. Rukshan Hirimutuge, S.D. Kumara Liyanage, D.M. Jayantha Bandara, D.H. Udaya Shantha and K.P. Arvinda Wijenayake.

Granting bail, the Judge ordered the suspects to appear before court on November 21.
