Softlogic launches ShipIT and Freighter solutions Softlogic Information Systems, a software solution provider, has released ShipIT and Freighter for the logistics industry in Sri Lanka. ShipIT is an integrated solution, having three (3) front-end modules and six (6) Operational Modules. The Solution keeps track of the Vessel Schedule and the voyage details, the marketing and booking details made between the shipper and the agent and the export charge rates. Other functions include the terminal Departure Report interface, Inward (Import) and Outward (Export) operations management, Transshipment operations management, Container Controlling and Freight Accounting. ShipIT has a built-in EDI interface for document upload and downloads with relation to Inward, Outward and Transshipment details. Freighter is an integrated solution that caters to the Air and Sea Import and Export requirements. The Air Module consists specialized booking functions specifically designed for air freight operations in the export department. Freighter incorporates the flight schedule which is linked to pricing and air way bill preparation. It also includes facilities for handling Air export and import consolidations. The pricing function has the capability to calculate rates, costs and airline settlements. The Sea Module caters for all aspects of sea-freight forwarding, including LCL, FCL, direct and consolidation. The Freight documentation includes all the commonly used documents including house and line bills of lading, domestic collection and delivery instructions, container loading manifest, freight manifest, Freighter interfaces allow the users to send both documents and tracking information to the customers via email and/or Fax. Both these Microsoft Windows based solutions have been built after extensive research and development, to ensure the customer needs are met. A high degree of user friendliness in the systems has been achieved, due to the graphical user interface together with the state-of-the-art technology used in these solutions. The products also contains a built in security module. Both solutions have numerous operational and management reports that can be further customized to meet specific needs of any customer. ShipIT and Freighter are integrated with each other for customers that carry out both Freight and Shipping activities. Furthermore these solutions are integrated with the Softlogic Accounting Solution for back office operations.
