Thomians enter semis, meet Isipatana

S. Thomas' College Mount Lavinia set up a semi-final showdown with arch rivals Isipatana by outplaying Royal Panadura by 58 points to 5 in their Premier championship inter school rugby tournament quarter-final match played at Longden Place yesterday.

The Thomians completely dominated the game and collected their points from four goals and six tries after having taken a commanding 24-nil lead at half time. Isipatana qualified into the last four with a walk over from Lumbini MV. The other semi-final will be between the Milo League runners-up Wesley College and Science College.

In the under 17 tournament Zahira College put up a fine performance to beat Ananda by 25 points to 17 in their quarter-final fixture.

The Zahirians will take on the winners of the Trinity v Asoka Vidyalaya match scheduled for today. In the under 13 tournament Kingswood edged out St. Joseph's 5-nil during extra time while S. Thomas' defeated Vidyaloka MV Galle 31-5. (C.D).
