Await 'Football show' on Channel EYE For the first time in the history of Sri Lanka football, an agreement was signed to launch "Football Show" a programme to promote football in Sri Lanka. The agreement was signed on September 11 at the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation Auditorium between Professor Dhammika Ganganath Dissanayake Chairman SLRC, Nimal Lakshapathiarachchi, Director General - SLRC and Manilal Fernando Vice President AFC/Chairman Organising committee FFSL and Chrysantha Perera CEO, FFSL. The first half hour of this programme will highlight football news, training programmes, latest techniques of the game, world football news and interviews with Sri Lanka football players as a means to encourage them. Football enthusiasts in Sri Lanka will have the opportunity to view football matches played in other parts of the world with the relevant details. What is most significant is that the SLRC has come forward in a big way to lend a hand for this national sport. SLRC has been telecasting the highlights of the Premier League tournament over the sports news, even before entering into this agreement. An advance of Rs. 500,000 has been handed over to the SLRC for this weekly 3 hour programme, after the agreement was signed between SLRC & FFSL. It has been scheduled to telecast this programme at 10.00 pm every Friday on channel Eye. |
